WE SHELL
OVERCOME!
She’s an invertebrate, meaning she has no spine, and she’s a mollusk, coming from the Latin word mollis, meaning soft. In other words, she’s soft and spineless, which is mollusk-ey to all her problems.

Zebra mussels are an ‘invasive species,’ meaning they’ve been introduced to her waters but they’re not native to her area. Zebra-blem for her is that they eat up all her food and take up all the room!

Sea stars have hundreds of tiny menacing suction-cup feet which they use to pry open her shell. All they have to do is make a tiny gap, turn their stomach inside out, push it through the crack, and digest her. A slow and horrible way to go. Sympathy vote, anyone?
